ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-Traffic was backed up for hours on I-270 south earlier Tuesday after a six vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer. The wreck happened around 8:30am. Investigators think somebody trying to switch lanes cut off the big rig leading to the crash.

Two people were taken to the hospital with what police call minor injuries.

Investigators say the semi was carrying car batteries.  That led to a lengthy clean-up so that the battery acid would not spill.
