EAST ST. LOUIS, IL (KTVI) - Talks resume Monday in the two-day old East St. Louis teachers' strike.
Teachers walked out of the classroom Thursday after negotiators failed to reach an agreement on a new deal. Friday morning the district provided transportation to school for students to get a hot breakfast. Students then returned home with a sack lunch.
The district plans to follow the same routine Monday because school will not be in session. Friday's football game at Edwardsville was also canceled because of the strike.
There are 6,000 students in the school district.
