CHESTERFIELD, MO (KTVI) – The Chesterfield City Council issued a report on a ‘Resolution of Censure’ on Monday against Mayor Bob Nation over allegations the mayor cussed at a city official and—in a separate incident—went on a tirade at a breakfast meeting with other county mayors.

According to a report appearing in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the resolution charged Mayor Nation with violation of the city’s no harassment policy and additional violation of the conduct policy during the July 1 incident with an unnamed city official.

Nation has since apologized to that official via email and voicemail.

The city council chastised Nation for a profanity-laced tirade over the county’s sales tax distribution formula at a September breakfast meeting of St. Louis County mayors.

Mayor Nation, who was elected in 2013, has drawn the ire of other county leaders for his fight against the sales tax distribution, as well as suggesting the City of Chesterfield secede from St. Louis County and join St. Charles County.

Earlier this year, Nation attempted to walk back those comments about secession, saying he was partially joking.
