MAPLEWOOD, MO (KTVI) – A water main break on Manchester Boulevard led to road and business closures in downtown Maplewood for several hours Tuesday.

According to a Missouri American Water spokesperson, the 8-inch water main break occurred in the westbound lane of Manchester in front of the Shop N Save.

The westbound lanes were closed several hours for repairs. Traffic was able to move in both directions via the eastbound lanes.

To fix the break, Missouri American Water had to shut off water service, affecting businesses and restaurant on Manchester between Oak View Terrace and Sutton.

Water service was restored around 9:50 p.m.
