NORTH COUNTY, MO (KTVI) - Metro is looking for your feedback on a new proposed North County bus service plan.
That plan is being finalized as a major new transit center goes up in Ferguson. You can voice your opinions and ask any questions at four open house style meetings being held with Metro over the next week.
The first one took place today at the Riverview Transit Center on Riverview Drive.
It went from 6am-9am. The new transit hub is going up on Pershall Road between West Florissant and New Halls Ferry. The center will feature an indoor passenger waiting area, concessions, a free park and ride lot and public restrooms.
It will be the first major metro bus transit hub in North County.
Metro officials talked with passengers this morning at the Riverview Transit Center about how bus service will change under the proposed new bus service plan. Metro says at least nine routes are going to converge at the new center.
Metro officials tell FOX 2 the new hub will mean more service and better service for passengers in an area where metro is seeing an increase in ridership. Those improvements will come through connections to more destinations, faster transfers along with more direct and frequent service.
Besides this morning`s meeting, there will also be open house meetings tomorrow at the North Hanley Transit Center, Thursday at the St. Louis Community College`s Florissant Valley Campus and next Tuesday at Trinity Catholic High School.
The new north county bus plan will become effective next March.
That is when the new center is slated to open in Ferguson.
