ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- A strong early season winter storm is passing through the Bi-State region Saturday. As expected, it is bringing heavy snow to Iowa and northern Illinois. The St. Louis region saw rain overnight thanks to temperatures in the 40°s, but the strong cold front associated with the storm has brought a sharp drop in temperatures and that rain is changing over to snow.
No significant accumulations are expected thanks to warm ground temperatures, but there may be a dusting on cars and some grassy surfaces. All precipitation is done by Noon.
Temperatures will drop through the 30°s on Saturday as gusty northwest winds take charge. Wind chills will be quite cold, in the lower 20°s most of the afternoon.
The coldest temperatures yet of the Fall season are with us overnight as lows dip into the lower 20°s.
