Odom named Mizzou head football coach

COLUMBIA, MO (KTVI)- Mizzou formally its new head football coach today. Defensive Coordinator Barry Odom has replaced Gary Pinkel, who retired for health reasons. The 39-year-old is "Mizzou made."

He played for the Tigers back in the late 90's under Larry Smith. He has also coached in some capacity for ten years.

His Tigers defense ranked seventh in the country in scoring allowed and ninth in the country in yards allowed.

Odom was presented publicly in a press conference Friday on the main floor of Mizzou Arena.
