Police: Man found dead in ditch was dementia patient
BRIDGETON, Mo. (AP) – Authorities in suburban St. Louis say a man found dead in a drainage ditch is a dementia patient who walked away from DePaul Hospital against medical advice in October.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the man was identified on Friday as 54-year-old Remy Anthony Gooldy. His body was found Thursday in a Bridgeton drainage ditch. Police say a cause of death has not been determined.
Gooldy left the hospital Oct. 28. He was being treated for worsening dementia and a stroke.
