ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Jason Heyward has reportedly agreed to sign with the Chicago Cubs over the St. Louis Cardinals. According to our partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Cardinals were notified they were not his selection.
The Cardinals acquired Heyward in November 2014 fromt he Atlanta Braves. The team had made re-signing Heyward their top offseason priority.
Heyward is the second former Cardinal that the Cubs have signed as a free agent. Chicago signed pitcher John Lackey earlier in the offseason to a two-year deal.
