A Star Wars toy produced almost 40 years ago sold at auction for a price that's out of this world. On Friday, a bidder paid $25,000 for a Luke Skywalker action figure from 1978. It's considered very rare because the lightsaber broke easily so the toys were pulled from production. The figure was also still in the original packaging.
The action figure was part of Sotheby's "Return of the NIGO'"online-only auction of Star Wars collectibles from Japanese designer and music producer NIGO. The collection sold-out for $502,200. Luke was not the most expensive item purchased. An extremely rare Canadian Star Wars Empire Strikes Back Seven-Figure Multi-Pack went for $32,500.
