ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Congressman William Lacy Clay supports St. Louis's effort to get the NFL to pay the city's remaining debt on the Edward Jones Dome.

Aldermanic President Lewis Reed sent a letter to Commissioner Roger Goodell. He is calling on the league to pay the city's remaining debt on the Edward Jones Dome.

Reed`s letter points out the 100% taxpayer built dome was meant to host the NFL for 30 years. since there will be no more NFL football games to help pay the city`s remaining debt on the Dome Reed says the the league should pick up the tab.

Congressman Lacy Clay agrees."That is something I will support Lewis Reed on and ask the NFL to give that some consideration. But you still have to remember that the county is involved in the payment of that debt another $6 million dollars annually and the state of Missouri another $12 million dollars annually."
