ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Students in St. Louis heard from some heavy hitters about the importance of a law enforcement career. Attorney General Chris Koster and St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson spoke to students at McKinley Classical Academy.

Officers talked with the students about their jobs in hopes it would encourage the kids to choose a career in law enforcement.

"There are lots of career paths to choose from, so when you're thinking about what to do, this job lets you be your own boss. It puts you out in the community every day talking to people and at the end of the day when you go home, you feel like you accomplished something." said St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson.

This is the fourth in a series of visits to urban schools. Their ultimate goal is to increase diversity in police agencies to better reflect the communities they serve.
