EDWARDSVILLE, IL (KTVI) – The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office charged three men in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries around Highland, Illinois.

According to Captain T. Mike Dixon, a spokesman for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the 3400 block of Highron Drive just before 3:15 a.m. on January 21 after a homeowner in rural Highland chased off people trying to burglarize his vehicle.

Over the course of their investigation, deputies determined more than a dozen vehicles in the area had been broken into, as well as one home garage, where the suspects took frozen food from a freezer. Other items stolen from these vehicles included cash, a purse, cigarettes, and other miscellaneous items.

Deputies located a pickup truck parked in the area near the burglaries and traced the vehicle to its owner, 20-year-old Logan Brave.

Brave was taken into custody and deputies apprehended 20-year-old Nicholas Kernan and 21-year-old Trevor Harrison later that morning.

Brave, Kernan, and Harrison were charged with five separate counts of burglary. They remain in custody at Madison County Jail on $100,000 bond each.
