NEW YORK- Angela Raiola, better known as “Big Ang” on VH1’s reality series “Mob Wives,” died early Thursday morning after battling cancer.
According to her spokesperson Vinnie Medugno, she was surrounded by nothing but love from her immediate family and closest friends.
“It is with sad regret that we inform you that at 3:01 a.m. Angela Raiola peacefully ended her battle with cancer, and was called home.”
In an earlier tweet, a representative shut down rumors that the reality star passed Wednesday night. According to the Daily News, she was given last rites and her family was holding a vigil by her side at the time.
Raiola began chemotherapy in early January for stage four brain and lung cancer.
She was 55.
