TOWN AND COUNTRY, MO (KTVI)- Drivers should be prepared for new traffic patterns on Interstate 64 starting Friday.

Crews have been out overnight doing this work on Interstate-64 narrowing and shifting lanes on the eastbound side of the highway. This new traffic pattern starts at I-64 and Route 141. It stretches all the way down to I-270.

This is part of the ongoing project to widen the highway.

Thursday night's work shut down two lanes of the interstate for about 9 hour. All lanes were expected to reopen at 5 a.m.

MoDOT said crews would also permanently close the ramp from South Outer Road to I-64 between Maryville Center Drive and Mason Road.

Motorists will still be able to get onto the highway from outer road at Route 141 and beyond.
