ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Thursday marks the last night you can go out and enjoy ice skating in Forest Park, as Steinberg Ice Rink closes up for the season.

It has been a good but challenging season for the ice rink. The warmer temperatures this winter, with so many weekend days in the 60s and 70s, caused the ice to be wet.

Attendance may have been down, but still skaters were here every day since the season opened last November. The rink manager says optimal conditions for outdoor skating are between 40 to 50 degrees and sunny.

Steinberg closes at 9 p.m. Admission is $7. Skate rental is $5.
