Alfalfa sprouts to blame for multi-state salmonella outbreak
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Greens are supposed to be good for you. These particular greens could have you turning green.
The CDC says Alfalfa sprouts are the likely source of a multi-state salmonella outbreak that has sickened more than a dozen people.
The states where illnesses have occurred are Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania. The earliest symptoms of illness started December 1st.
Health officials believe alfalfa sprouts produced by Sweetwater Farms in Kansas are the source of the outbreak.
