ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – A federal lawsuit claims St. Louis County Police have been arresting people without legal, arrest warrants.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the group Arch City Defenders claims officers are holding people for up to 24 hours on “wanteds,” instead of seeking a warrant after an arrest.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and is seeking class-action status to represent anyone arrested this way in the last five years.
