Police say dozens of teens vandalized downtown restaurant, parked cars

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - St. Louis police are investigating claims that dozens of teenagers converged on a downtown restaurant over the weekend and stirred up mayhem along the way.

According to a police spokesperson, residents called the department to filed several disturbance reports about a large group of teenagers acting out downtown.

Fox 2 News spoke to employees at Sauce on the Side, who said the teenagers entered the restaurant and stole a tip jar.  They said the teens also damaged outdoor chairs by throwing them around at the Old Post Office Plaza nearby.

Two cars were vandalized around the same time just down the road at 7th and Olive.

At this point, police are in the process of reviewing surveillance video in the area to identify the people involved.

Residents who live nearby tell Fox 2 News they've seen teens hang out in the plaza area from time to time, but haven't heard of any major disturbances. They have also seen more patrols in the area. There were no arrests and the case is still under investigation.
