MACOMB, Ill. (AP) _ The National Weather Service says a tornado has been reported near the western Illinois town of Good Hope in McDonough County.

A dispatcher in the McDonough County sheriff’s office said late Tuesday that some damage has been reported in and around the town. However, he said it wasn’t clear if it was caused by a tornado or from high winds. There were no reports of injuries.

The weather service is warning area residents of golf ball-sized hail and flying debris.

The National Weather Service has placed all of northern Illinois and parts of Indiana at slight risk for severe weather late Tuesday.

A high wind watch has been put in place for Wednesday in the Chicago area. The weather service is forecasting wind gusts of up to 60 mph.
