ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI)- Dr. Dehra Glueck, a psychiatrist at the St. Louis Children's Hospital, is now advocating that parents teach their daughters to be brave rather than perfect.

Dr. Glueck joined us in the studio this morning with her daughter Jadyn to explain this bravery philosophy and how it may help your daughter grow.

Dr. Glueck said the main difference is that brave daughters are raised to take risks rather than trying to be perfect. She also said it is important to start a conversation with your daughter about why perfect doesn't work - mostly because if you are trying to be perfect you will never be at your learning edge - which is where you actually change and grow - and it has plenty of failure
