For the second time in as many playoff match-ups, the St. Louis Blues were forced to play a winner-take-all Game 7 Wednesday night, and for the second straight series, the team advanced to see the next round. The Blues jumped out early and blew out the Dallas Stars on the road, winning  6-1.

The victory puts St. Louis back in the Western Conference  finals for the first time since 2001.

The Note responded early from Monday’s disappointing home loss in Game 6, with three first period goals from Robby Fabbri, Paul Stastny and Patrik Burgland past Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen and never looked back. Captain David Backes and Troy Brouwer scored second period goals to make it a 5-0 Blues lead. Vladimir Tarasenko's empty net goal in the third period closed out the 6-1 final score. Blues goalie Brian Elliott stopped 31 of the 32 shots he faced in Game 7.

St. Louis will face the winner of Thursday’s Game 7 in the other semifinal between the Nashville Predators and the San Jose Sharks. The series will begin Sunday, May 15th at 7:00 PM at Scottrade Center, with the Blues holding home ice advantage in the Conference Finals Series.
