Radio station in “Shark County” pulls Nelly from airwaves during Stanley Cup Playoffs

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (KTVI)- If you like Nelly’s music, but live in San Francisco , CA, you are out of luck on 102.1-FM. Program Director Elroy Smith announced in a Facebook video Friday, that the artist Nelly, who is from St. Louis, is banned from the airwaves of Q102 during the Round 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs as the San Jose Sharks take on the St. Louis Blues.

Smith asked his employees, “What territory are we in?” They enthusiastically replied, “Shark Territory.”

Q102 calls itself “The Throwback Station,” playing classic hip hop and throwback R&B.
