JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO (KTVI) - “He shot me in the leg and shot my buddy for no reason.”

That’s how Timothy Moore described what happened Wednesday afternoon at his home on Jones Creek Road in Jefferson County.

Moore was released from the hospital Thursday evening. His friend, Kenneth Mann, was also shot but did not survive.

“After he shot me I told Kenny, I said, ‘He’s got a gun!’ Then he turned around and shot Kenny after he shot me,” Moore said.

The Major Case Squad was activated Wednesday and on Thursday announced charges had been filed against 27-year-old Jesse Murray. Moore said the shooter wanted a 1999 Saturn returned. Moore insists he knew nothing about the car.

Words were exchanged between the two men.

“I pushed him and I said, ‘I’m calling the cops,’ and he pulled out a gun and started shooting us,” Moore said. “He shot my buddy for no reason.”

Moore said a bullet went through his left leg and his friend was shot in the stomach. He returned home from the hospital Thursday with help from his father and a walker.

Moore said he doesn’t know the accused shooter, but issued a stern warning.

“He better hope I don’t get a hold of him. I got friends where he’s going,” Moore said.
