Police officer injured chasing suspect on foot in south St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Officers were chasing two suspects who ran from a vehicle in south St. Louis Friday afternoon.  One of the officers chasing the suspects fell during the pursuit and injured his knee.

Officers were tracking a vehicle that matched the description of one used in a burglary.  The vehicle sped off when officers tried to pull it over.

Police found the vehicle in an alley in the 4400 block of Chippewa. Both occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee the scene. The driver was taken into custody after resisting arrest. The passenger fled, resulting in a foot pursuit, bu was taken into custody.

The injured officer was taken to the hospital.
