POTOSI, MO (KTVI) – A 38-year-old inmate at the Potosi Correctional Center faces first-degree murder charges for allegedly beating his cellmate to death.

That cellmate, 35-year-old Daniel Wilson of St. Louis, was found guilty of beating his seven-month-old son to death in January 2010 in their Dogtown home. Wilson was giving a life sentence following the conviction.

According to our partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Wilson got into a fight with Brandon Kulhanek in their cell on October 14, 2015. Wilson was taken to Washington County Hospital and died as a result of a crushed larynx.

Kulhanek had been serving an 18-year sentence for assault and other crimes prior to the incident with Wilson.
