Blues trade Brian Elliott to Calgary

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – The St. Louis Blues have traded goaltender Brian Elliott to the Calgary Flames in exchange for two draft picks.

Elliott, 31, recorded a 104-46-16 record in five seasons with the Blues. He posted a franchise-record 25 shutouts in 181 regular season games, as well as 2.01 goals against average (GAA) and a .925 save percentage. In the postseason, Elliott accumulated a 14-17 record, a .917 save percentage, and a 2.32 GAA.

The Flames are giving up a 2016 NHL Draft second-round pick and a conditional third-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft.

Elliott, a native of Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, was originally drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the ninth round of the 2003 NHL Draft.
