ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) -The summer has already been very hot and it is only late June. Cool Down St. Louis is stepping up their efforts to save lives during these hot times. The all-volunteer organization helps St. Louis residents receive assistance with paying high utility bills.

Don't be afraid to run your air conditioning. Call the Cool Down St. Louis hotline (314-241-7668) and they will direct you to the correct place to learn about financial assistance for paying utility bills.

Just last week, Ameren donated 500 air conditioners to citizens in need and Cool Down St. Louis has distributed those units as needed.   The public can  drop off new or slightly used ACs at any Missouri or Illinois Vatterott College location and receive a tax deduction.

If you'd like to make a monetary donation to Cool Down St. Louis, drop by any UMB Bank and leave a donation or send it to C/O UMB Bank, P.O. Box 868, St. Louis, MO 63118. 100% of all public donations help qualified seniors, disabled and low-income households with utilities.
