CHESTERFIELD, MO (KTVI) - A warning to parents in Chesterfield to be alert after a 13-year-old girl narrowly escaped an attempted abduction.

According to the Chesterfield police it happened in the parking lot of the Premium Outlet Mall Saturday.

As the girl was getting out of the family's SUV, a white male asked if her sisters were in the car, or if she had anyone close by.

The man then walked up behind her so she could not leave.

The man told her to get in the car and to give him the keys.

She resisted and kept saying “let me go."

That's when the man told her not to scream, and covered her mouth.

The teen eventually broke away and ran toward her mother.

The suspect is described as a chubby white male, six feet tall, with red hair and beard, blue eyes, and freckles.

He was wearing a baseball hat and a grey t-shirt with a red button-up shirt over it, and he had a tattoo on his fingers.

Anyone who has any information is asked to call the Chesterfield Police Department.
