Swim Across America making waves in the St. Louis area

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-Local swimmers are making waves for cancer research. For the first time, 'Swim Across America' will be taking place in the St. Louis area! The First Annual St. Louis Open Water Swim will take place on Saturday, August 27th. The organization "makes  waves" by hosting benefit swims for their cancer research partners who are developing new cures and treatments to defeat cancer.

Swimmers of all ages and abilities are welcome. All proceeds raised stay in St. Louis and go directly to Sitemen Cancer Center.

Did you know that SAA is brings Olympic swimmers to its events? That will certainly be the case this year! Three Olympic swimmers are expected to attend.

The University of Missouri and DeSmet High school swim teams will be in attendance as well. Many will be 'angel swimmers' who have less experience.
