WEBSTER GROVES, MO (KTVI) – A Webster University student-employee was found dead Thursday morning at his off-campus apartment, the university said.

According to a university spokesman, 42-year old Chorsie Martin worked in the IT department and had not been heard from since last Friday. Student life representatives went to make a wellness check on Martin after several unanswered phone calls, only to find Martin’s body in his apartment.

Martin lived in the Glen Park Apartments on Lockwood Avenue, which the school leases out for students wishing to live off-campus.

Investigators with the Webster Groves Police Department told school officials there were no signs of forced entry, but that Martin’s death has been deemed suspicious for the time being. Authorities are awaiting toxicology reports.

Webster Groves Police could not be directly reached for comment Thursday evening.
