Two officers injured in police chase in north St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Two officers with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department were treated for non-life threatening injuries following a chase that ended in a north city neighborhood.

According to investigators, the incident occurred between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. near the intersection of Page Boulevard and Academy Avenue.

Police said the suspect’s vehicle broke down and he ditched the car. The pursuing officers stopped and gave chase on foot. The officers were able to apprehend the suspect, but not before one cop's arm was hurt the other cop's leg was injured.

Authorities have not yet said exactly how the police officers came to be injured.

Police searched the suspect’s vehicle and found narcotics, cash, and at least one weapon.
