Heavy absentee voting expected in St. Louis County
CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) _ Absentee voting for the November election is expected to be so heavy in St. Louis County that the Board of Elections has opened a temporary office to accommodate voters.
The temporary office opened Tuesday in Maplewood. Board of Elections director Eric Fey says 30,000 to 40,000 county residents are expected to vote absentee, and the election board’s main office, also in Maplewood, is not large enough.
The temporary office is open for voting from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday through Nov. 7. It will also be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on four Saturdays _ Oct. 15, Oct. 22, Oct. 29 and Nov. 5.
