Cybersecurity: Fastest growing graduate program at Webster University

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) –  The Webster University Cybersecurity program is one of Webster’s fastest growing graduate programs.

Webster University President Elizabeth Stroble and Assistant Professor in Cybersecurity Dr. Jim Curtis talk about the cybersecurity program and what’s to expect.

The Cybersecurity field is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. The Department of Labor forecasts that Cybersecurity jobs will grow by 18% every year for the next decade. There are currently 1 million openings in the United States for Cybersecurity jobs.

Cybersecurity is important to anyone who goes online for any reason and for protecting the privacy of their data.

The Webster University program goes beyond the basics to prepare students for demanding cybersecurity leadership and  management positions in the public and private sector. Students have the unique experience to practice in a private cloud cyber laboratory and engage in live exercises with computer viruses, malware, and DDoS attacks.

Webster University also offers a certificate program to give students a broad overview of cybersecurity issues and tactics. Students are introduced to cybersecurity networks, policies and laws on digital security and the basics of threat detection.

Graduates will be well-versed in information protection and digital forensics, as well as threat trends emerging in mobile computing, social media, cloud computing, big data and critical infrastructures.
