ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Daily physical exercise is key in keeping your body happy and healthy throughout life. But as many of us leave our 20s and 30s, how can we continue to keep our bodies fit and active when we leave our physical prime? Bryce Mitchell of New Era Fitness stopped by FOX 2 this morning to answer the question of how we can keep ourselves in the gym whether your 25 or 65.
Mitchell explains that as we age, our bodies naturally begin to slow down due to the wear and tear of everyday life. To combat this, Mitchell emphasises the importance of matching your exercise to your own body. When discomfort in the gym becomes just a little too much to bare, reduce the weight of your exercise to prevent strain. Mitchell also stresses the importance of stretching. A daily stretching routine helps prevent injury and will increase endurance during a hard workout.
