ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-Every October we celebrate one of America’s best loved foods, pasta! There are so many ways to celebrate National Pasta Month from trying a new recipe to learning how to eat like an Italian.
Italian born actress and author Guiliana Rancic and her husband Bill joined us via satellite to share their first-hand observations of the differences in Italian and American eating. They also provided easy tips and advice for bringing Mangia into your home.

•There are more than 600 pasta shapes produced worldwide
•The word “pasta” comes from the Italian for paste, meaning a combination of flour and water
•The three most popular pastas’ are: penne, spaghetti and macaroni

•One-quarter of Italians eat pasta on a daily basis, compared to just two percent of Americans
•84% of Italians eat at the table with family and 70% eat family-style, compared to 31% of Americans
•Italians are three times more likely to have wine with their meals and more than two times more likely to set the table than Americans.
