Blues Report: Allen Injury Update, Yakupov’s 1st Practice

The Blues held another spirited practice on Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Ice Zone in Hazelwood, They open their season this coming Wednesday at Chicago against the Blackhawks. Their home opener is one night later, Thursday when the Blues host the Minnesota Wild. At Monday's practice, goalie Jake Allen did not participate. He suffered an ankle injury during Saturday's pre season game. Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock said Allen will test the ankle before Tuesday's practice. If he feels ok, Allen will participate in that practice and hopefully play on Wednesday night. If Allen can't go, new back up goalie Carter Hutton will get the start.

New Blues forward Nail Yakupov acquired late last week from Edmonton, participated in his first Blues practice on Monday. Yakupov, a number one overall pick by the Oilers is grateful for the fresh start the Blues are giving him. Yakupov said he felt great pressure in Edmonton to produce as a top pick.
