Collinsville woman charged with disposing of murder victim’s body

CARBONDALE, IL (KTVI) – A 22-year-old woman with ties to Collinsville is accused of trying to get rid of the body of a murder victim.

The alleged crime happened in Carbondale. Firefighters discovered the body of a woman inside a burning trash can in a wooded area in the early morning of August 30.

On Monday, Tiesha Anderson was arrested and charged with concealing a homicide.

Investigators described Anderson as a transient who has been in Carbondale for some time, but also lived in Collinsville. Her bond was set at $750,000.

The dead woman's name has not been released yet. Investigators also haven’t revealed if the woman died before the fire or as a result of the fire.
