Contract talks to continue between Schnucks and Union this week

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Contract talks between Schnucks and its largest union Local 6-55 of the United Food And Commercial Workers' are expected to continue this week. Almost 2,000 Schnucks workers voted to not accept the grocery chain's latest contract offer.

The vote authorizes a strike, but union leaders say they hope that is the last resort. They're headed back to negotiate a deal.

Local 6-55 represents more than 4,500 checkers, stockers and other Schnucks employees.
