ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - Fundraisers for Officer Blake Snyder's family and the BackStoppers organization are continuing across the region this weekend.
Tower Tee organizers declared Saturday, 'Blake Snyder' day and hosted the 'Swing for the Snyders' fundraiser with daily revenues going to the Snyder family through BackStoppers.
"Everybody sees our sign out and everybody has been adding money to their buckets and adding money to our donation box and everybody is very willing to help out” said Tower Tee employee Katie Steinman.
"It’s bringing awareness to what happened and It also brings the town together I think" said golfer Janna Thomas. "I think that in a tragedy it’s something small that can actually-a good thing that can come from it" she said.
At Hot Shots in Fenton, multiple organizations set up shop taking donations all day in honor of Officer Blake Snyder.
"To me it just- you know- makes my heart smile to see that so many people are catching on and wanting to stand up and show support now" said Trish Dennison.
St. Louis County Police Officer Blake Snyder was killed on October 6 while responding to a disturbance call in Green Park. He was laid to rest in Godfrey, Il on Thursday.
"I mean there’s nothing you can say" said Darin McClure. "I wish there were words we could put out there but there’s not. And that’s why I’m glad the fundraisers are going all over for him. He deserves it and all the police officers deserve it" he said.
