ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – A Lincoln County man charged in a shooting incident claims he didn’t use a gun. Brian Garrett, 32, is charged with assault and armed criminal action.

Authorities say he ran with a rifle towards a car traveling on Penrod road last Wednesday. Garrett is accused of firing a shot that shattered the car’s back window.

Garrett told detectives he was involved in an argument with the victims earlier in the day. He says he did *not* shoot at the car, but instead threw a rock.

Garrett is being held on a $50,000 cash only bond.
