Former Belleville police Sgt. to be honored at Lindenwood Monday

BELLEVILLE, IL (KTVI)- The community will gather for a special honor in Belleville for a 58-year-old retired first responder.

This Thursday marks the tenth anniversary of when Belleville Police Sergeant Jon Brough lost his eyesight to a shotgun blast while moving in on a double murder suspect. Brough will be honored by the Belleville mayor and city council for his heroism on Monday, November 7th .

The event starts at 7 p.m. at Lindenwood University on West Main Street in Belleville.
