Police investigate shooting death of 64-year-old Aurora man
AURORA, Ill. (AP) _ Police in Aurora are investigating the slaying of a 64-year-old man who was shot to death this weekend.
In a news release, police say that after receiving a report of a shooting shortly after 12:30 a.m. Sunday they found Samuel Smith Jr. He had been shot once. Smith was taken to Presence Mercy Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:22 a.m.
The release says that detectives have not determined a motive for the shooting or if Smith was the intended target.

Aurora is about 37 miles west of Chicago.
