ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI) - All schools in the Francis Howell School District are in a "soft lockdown" as a result of the shooting at a home on Wilbert Drive near McClay Road in the Harvest Acres subdivision. A 33-year-old man was shot and taken to the hospital. The suspects are not in police custody.
The 'persons' of interest in this crime are identified by police as Derrion Tate, 32, and Alfred Davis, 25, both of St. louis County. Tate is the estranged husband of the home owner. They are travelling in black Chevy Silverado with Missouri plates.
Police say the suspects knocked on the front door at around 6:15am and had an argument with the homeowner, a woman inside the home. The people inside the home did not open the front door during the argument. The family, including four children were eating breakfast inside the home at the time. A suspect went to the rear of the home and shot inside, striking the victim.
The condition of the victim is not known a this time. He is being treated for his injuries from the shooting at an area hospital.
The shooting was a half-mile away from the closest school Francis Howell school building. Administrators called for a lockdown as a precaution. A soft lockdown means there are no outside activities, no recess and an increased vigilance at the schools. The lockdown will be in place until police give the OK.
