The Vianney Golden Griffins became the first five loss team to win a Missouri state championship in football. They beat fellow St. Louis area school Fort Zumwalt North 49-14 at Plaster Stadium in Springfield, MO for the Class 5 Title. Vianney started the season 1-4, but won eight of their final nine games to capture their first championship in high school football in school history. Kyren Williams scored four touchdowns to lead the Griffins offensive attack. The game also marked Zumwalt North's first championship game appearance in school history.
