Two in custody after man shot at Swansea MetroLink station

SWANSEA, IL (KTVI) - For the second time in less than two weeks a person was shot at a MetroLink station. This time in the Metro East. A man was shot at around at 7:30pm on the platform at the Swansea station. Two people of interest were taken into police custody.

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Department says the investigation is still ongoing. No charges been filed at this time. Investigators are still trying to determine if this was a robbery attempt or some type of dispute between friends or acquaintances.

Less than two weeks ago a MetroLink security guard was shot at the Wellston station when he approached a man about an unpaid fair.

The victim was released from the hospital earlier Tuesday. Charges are expected Wednesday.
