Fire damages vacant north city apartment building

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-Police are investigating an early morning fire in St. Louis city.  It started around 1:30 a.m. at a vacant three story apartment building on Dryden Avenue at Margaretta.

When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting out of a third story window. A woman who lives next door was taken to the hospital.

Firefighters believe she was panicked by the fire.

There is no word on the cause.
