Shawnee, KS (KCTV) — A Shawnee woman who witnessed a woman steal a package from her sister’s front porch made sure it was not going to happen on her watch.

Nancy Troyer was driving by her sister’s house when she noticed a truck she didn’t recognize. She confronted the driver and found out she stopped a thief from making off with a package.

“I just approached her and said, ‘hey, what’s going on?'”

According to Troyer, the suspected thief told her she was picking up a package for Andrea. However, no one named Andrea lives at the home.

Troyer discovered the package was in fact addressed to her daughter. The nervous woman handed over the package and took off.

“She almost hit us trying to get out,” Troyer said.

Troyer shared the photos online, including on the group Stolen KC, in hopes someone will report the woman so police can question her.

“It really makes people angry that people are out there doing that,” she said. “It’s so bold.”

She hopes more people will keep an eye on their neighbors’ porches this holiday season.

Troyer told KCTV5 she heard from other victims who believe the woman may have targeted them after her photo was shared thousands of times.
