Arrest made in Skinker DeBaliviere murder

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged a 23-year-old man in connection with the shooting death of his roommate.

The shooting took place just before 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 3 in the 5800 block of De Giverville Avenue, located in the Skinker DeBaliviere neighborhood.

Police responded to calls for a shooting and found two people suffering from gunshot wounds: Rolando Bolden Jr. and Davontay Vastine, both 23 years of age.

Bolden Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene and Vastine was taken to a local hospital to be treated for wounds to the forearm, hand, shoulder, and face.

The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting were not disclosed.

Vastine was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He remains jailed on a $500,000 cash-only bond.
