Dexter Fowler in St. Louis, 10 AM Friday Press Conference Announced by Cardinals

Free agent outfielder Dexter Fowler arrived in St. Louis on Thursday night. The Cardinals announced that Fowler was coming to town to take a physical. The team did not announce Fowler’s signing with the Redbirds. However hours after Fowler arrived in town, the Cardinals announced a 10 AM press conference on Friday morning. It is speculated by several baseball sources that Fowler has passed the Cardinals team physical and will be signing a five year contract worth 80 to 90 million dollars.

Fowler a nine year Major League player, spent the past two seasons in Chicago playing for the Cubs. The center fielder who hits lead off, helped the Cubs win the 2016 World Series, their first in 108 years. Fowler is a switch hitter with a .268 career batting average and a .366 career on base percentage. Fowler has also played for the Colorado Rockies and Houston Astros in his big league career.
